I was born on 17 August 1992.
I got the nickname Spike when I was a few months old from my grandfather because my hair stuck up. Still does.
I always knew that I liked speed as when I was two years old we had a little red Jeep and I told my grandfather to make it go faster.
I grew up in Sydney, Australia and am the youngest of three boys (poor mum). In 2011 I moved to the UK to compete in the British Formula Ford Championship.
When did I know that I wanted to be a racing driver?
In March 2006, at the age of 13, I went with my dad to the Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne. The first morning we went for a pit walk and into the Ferrari garage. The first time I heard those F1 cars ‘scream’ and ‘fly’ down the straight I immediately knew that I wanted to be a racing driver. Soon afterwards my dad bought two go karts and I started racing against my brother and my best friend.
